A New York Giants fan who was caught on video yelling at his team’s players in the final minutes of the team’s 28-20 win over the Tennessee Titans has been banned from the team, a source told ESPN.
The incident took place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, around 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, a day after the Giants defeated the Tennessee team 24-13.
A source told ESPNDallas.com that the man was identified as Josh Sargent, who has been a member of the Giants for five years.
The source added that Sargment was “taken into custody” after the game and charged with a misdemeanor, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail.
The source said Sargant was suspended indefinitely from all team activities.
The team declined to comment further on the matter.
The Giants are in the midst of their bye week, which began on Saturday and will end on Sunday.
They will play two games on Sunday against the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles.
