Posted February 06, 2019 07:20:11The new tower heating system that will be installed in the Bay Lake Tower Hotel, which will serve as the home of the Toronto Raptors, is expected to help curb air quality and emissions.
The city says the new tower is expected increase air quality in the city by 20-30% compared to previous towers.
The city says it is also expected to significantly reduce the emissions from buildings and the city’s overall greenhouse gas emissions.
A recent report from the Ontario Municipal Board, which is the provincial regulatory body for cities, found that the new system, which includes heating units, air conditioning units and a fan, will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by up to 50%.
It also found that emissions from other facilities such as power plants and construction sites will be reduced by about a third.
Air pollution control officials say the new air quality control system will be operational by March 31.
The system is expected provide approximately 40% less GHG emissions than previous tower systems, but the City of Toronto is still hoping to have the system in place by July.
There are also many questions about the system, and whether it will be ready for the 2018-19 season.
The city is hoping that the system can be installed by the end of the year.
If that’s not possible, the city will likely have to retrofit the system.
